Privacy policy

PhotoSlim processes your photos on your device and never uploads them. This page explains when the app accesses your photos and where your data is kept.

PhotoSlim ("the app") is a photo compression and resizing app made by Z-SOFT CO., LTD ("we"). It is built to work fully offline: reading, compressing, resizing and converting your photos, and removing information from them, all happen on your device. We run no server, and we never receive your photos or your personal information.

The data, item by item

1. What the app handles, and where it is kept

Nothing leaves your device unless you share it yourself, or when you buy Pro.

  • The photos you choose (originals)

    Stays on your device

    Only the photos you pick are read and processed on your device. Originals are never modified.

  • Compressed photos

    Stays on your deviceOnly when you share them, to the destination you choose

    Saved as new copies to Photos (a “PhotoSlim” album on iPhone, Pictures/PhotoSlim on Android) or to Files.

  • Location, capture date and camera info (EXIF)

    Stays on your device

    Removed from compressed photos according to your settings. The Privacy check only reads them on your device.

  • History

    Stays on your device

    Date, number of photos, sizes, settings and small 120 px thumbnails, on your device only (latest 200 entries).

  • Settings and presets

    In the app's settings on your device. The share extension reads the same on-device storage.

  • Pro purchase

    Apple or Google handles the purchase; the app only records on your device whether you have Pro.

2. What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK. Your photos are never uploaded.

3. Access to your photos

  • Choosing photos: you pick photos with the system photo picker (the Photos picker on iPhone and iPad, the Photo Picker on Android). The app only reads the photos you choose. With "Choose from Files" it only reads the files you choose.
  • Photo library (iPhone and iPad): the app asks for access only when you save compressed photos to Photos (to create and add to the "PhotoSlim" album) and when you use "Delete originals". The system always asks you to confirm before anything is deleted.
  • Storage (Android): compressed photos are saved to Pictures/PhotoSlim. On Android 9 and older, the app asks for permission to write to storage in order to save them. "Delete originals" (Android 11 and later) deletes only after the system asks you to confirm.

The app never modifies your originals. Compressed photos are saved as new copies; an original is removed only if you choose "Delete originals" and approve the system's confirmation.

4. Information inside photos (EXIF and location)

A photo can contain where it was taken (GPS), when, and camera details such as model and lens (EXIF). Following your settings, the app removes these when it compresses (by default it removes location, camera info and other EXIF, and keeps the capture date). The Privacy check only reads and shows this information on your device; the app does not go online to turn coordinates into an address.

5. Share extension

When you choose PhotoSlim from the Share menu of Photos or another app, compression also happens on your device, inside the share extension, and the compressed photos go only to the destination you choose. To read your settings and whether you have Pro, the extension uses a storage area on your device shared with the app (an App Group).

6. Network use

The app only goes online to buy PhotoSlim Pro, restore a purchase or check your purchase status. Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles this; we never receive your payment details.

If you have allowed your device to share analytics, technical details of an app crash may reach us through Apple or Google. These reports never contain your photos.

7. Storage and deletion

Settings, presets and history are stored only in the app's storage on your device. History keeps only the date, the number of photos, sizes, the settings used and small thumbnails (120 px) — never the compressed photos themselves. It keeps the latest 200 entries, and "Clear history" in Settings deletes it at any time. Deleting the app deletes all of this. We keep no backup.

8. Sharing with third parties

We don't receive your information, so we can't share it. Photos you share yourself are handled under the policy of the service you share them with.

9. Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, whatever their age.

10. Changes to this policy

Any change will be published on our website with a new "last updated" date.
